Audrey G. Stair, 86, of Nescopeck passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at The Gardens at Orangeville, surrounded by her family.
Born in Conyngham Township on March 29, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Doyle and Violet (Knorr) Garrison. She graduated from Nescopeck High School, class of 1949. In her younger years, she worked at the cigar factory in Berwick and most recently at US Radium Corp in Bloomsburg.
Audrey was a member of First United Church of Christ, Nescopeck where she was an active member of the ladies’ aide. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She liked baking, and was known for her Christmas Cookies and doughnuts, that she made for everyone on Doughnut Day.
She will be greatly missed by her husband of 65 years, Carl F. Stair, Nescopeck; children: son, Gary Stair and wife Susan, Berwick; daughter, Debbie Bloom and husband Rick, Nescopeck; son, Todd Stair and wife Susan, Hobbie; grandchildren, Katherine Arnold and husband Brad, Andrew Stair and wife Margarita Franco, Travis Bloom, Tyler Bloom and wife Jayme, Taylor Stair, Troy Stair; great grandson, Luke Arnold; brother, Ronald Garrison, Berwick; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Glenn, Elwood and Donald Garrison; and sisters, Betty Shults, Dolores Miller and Shirley Thomas.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 10, 2017 at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 East Third Street, Nescopeck with Reverend Richard Dennison officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Berwick. Friends may call on Monday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of service.
