Ronald G. Johnson, 50, of Berwick passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Berwick Hospital, after being stricken with a sudden illness at home.
Born in Tucson, AZ on January 4, 1967, he was a son of Charlotte D. (Jackson) Potter, Berwick; and Robert “Gary” Johnson and wife Sharon, Orangeville. Ron worked at Potter Construction for 19 years, and was currently a Press Enterprise paper carrier, making deliveries for rural areas.
Ron enjoyed hunting and boating. Ever since his children were young, some of his favorite times were spent camping with his family. He was an Eagles football fan, and Dale Earnhardt Jr, NASCAR fan. He spent many hours with his beloved and loyal dogs, Bo, Molly, Maih, Toby and Chloe. His greatest love was spending as much time as possible with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Wendy J. (Bankes) Johnson with whom he spent the past 32 years; children: Crystal L. Johnson, Berwick; Cherese Kile and husband Brandon, Shickshinny; Deanna Washington, Bloomsburg; Christopher G. Johnson, Berwick; Ryan W. Johnson and companion Courtney Pollick, Berwick; Desiree D. Johnson, Berwick; 9 grandchildren; sister, Virginia Collins and husband Scott, Berwick; Carrie Potter, NJ; brothers, Joe Potter, York; Charles Potter, York; Aunt, Helen Gooden, Uncle Chuck Jackson; several cousins, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Sidney Potter.
Family will receive friends during the viewing from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 East Third Street, Nescopeck, followed by a brief funeral service at 8:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with his final expenses, and sent to his sister, Virginia Collins, 1805 Spring Garden Avenue, Berwick, PA 18603.
