H. Louise Martin

H. Louise Martin, 72, of Berwick passed away on Monday, May 8, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Hazleton on June 21, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Anthony L and Helen K (Goida) Martin. She graduated from Berwick High School, and was employed at Lady Ester and Consolidated Cigar, Berwick, prior to starting her family. Once she became a mother, Louise’s full time position was to be a loving mother, caregiver and “home-school teacher”, who was devoted to raising her children.

Louise was an active member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, where she was involved with the youth group and prayer group. She was a volunteer for Beyond Voilence, Berwick. Louise liked crossword puzzles, crafts, and reading, especially religious books. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with family and friends.

She will be greatly missed by her children: Michael Cashman and wife Mina, Belington, WV; Josella Librizzi and husband Mike, Linwood, NJ; Mary Cashman, Berwick; Anne Delaney and husband Scott, Aliquippa; Christopher Cashman and fiancé Desrae Holden, Berwick; Elizabeth Robbins and husband Brett, Bloomsburg; cherished grandchildren, Michael, Mina, Meghan, Jimmy, Elizabeth, Mary Kate, Greg, Matthew, Sam, Nicolette, Michael, McKenzie, Bryce and Trinity; brother, Anthony Martin and wife Marian, Las Vegas; sister, Alexa Bufunno, Bloomsburg; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Tommy Cashman in 2007; and brother, Michael Martin.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, May 15, 2017 in St. Joseph’s Church, 721 Monroe Street, Berwick with her pastor, Rev. Dennis Dalessandro officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery, Berwick. A viewing will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Sunday at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 East Third Street, Nescopeck.
