Bettie M. Lowery, 93 of Berwick passed away on Monday, June 12, 2017 at Berwick Retirement Village II, with her family by her side.
Born in Tunkhannock on December 23, 1923, she was a daughter of the late George Crawford and Lucretia (White) O’Neal. She attended school in Tunkhannock. Bettie was a homemaker who enjoyed completing the tasks of providing a clean and loving home for her husband and children.
Bettie was a devoted member of First Baptist Church, Berwick. She enjoyed painting ceramics. She loved baking, especially pies, which she liked offering as dessert.
She will be greatly missed by her sons: Donald Lowery and wife Elizabeth, South Carolina; Dennis Lowery and wife Vicki, Berwick; grandchildren: Donald Lowery Jr., Michelle Cantrell and Jennifer Knorr; step grandchildren: Kyle Kalanick and Rachel Kalanick; great grandchildren: Megan, Brooke, Jendyn, and Kale; step-great-grandson, Jayce; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 74 years, Maurice L. Lowery in 2015; granddaughter, Suzanne Lowery; sister, Leona Crawford; and brothers, George Crawford and Robert O’Neal.
A memorial service will bel held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at First Baptist Church, 224 West Front Street, Berwick with the Reverend Charles Jensen officiating. Family will receive friends from 1:00 until the time of service.
