Christopher L. Wood, 37, of Berwick passed away on Thursday evening, August 17, 2017 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, after a brief cardiac illness.
Born in Berwick on October 12, 1979, he was the son of Roger D. Wood and Clara M. (Longenberger) Watts of Berwick. He was educated in Shamokin and Berwick Area Schools. “Woody” worked in tree farming most of his life, at Diehl’s Nursery, Bloomsburg and most recently at Karchner’s in Millville.
“Woody” enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Since becoming ill, he would pass the time watching his favorite sitcoms on TV.
In addition to his parents, he will be greatly missed by his sons, Christopher L. Wood, Jr; and Jason T. Wood; a sister, Laura Hunsinger and companion Adam, Mt Carmel; nephew, Derrick; several aunts and uncles including, Amanda Fetterman; Ruth Ann Longenberger; James Longenberger; Robert Longenberger; Raymond and Beatrice Wood; and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; an aunt, Jane Rhodes; and uncle, John Longenberger.
A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to his parents to help defray his final expenses at 230 West 17th Street, Lot 10, Berwick, PA 18603.
