Irene E. (Bafile) Belcastro, 77, passed away on August 25, 2017 in Danbury, CT.
Born in Mifflinville on February 24, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Adolfo and Flossie Jean (Hottenstein) Bafile. After graduating from Berwick High School, she moved to New York, and attended Mercy College, where she earned an associate degree in business. She worked as a Treasury Agent for the IRS for many years. After retirement, she worked as a caregiver at an adult group home.
Irene was a dedicated mother to her children.
She was preceded in death by her daughters, Jean Marie Belcastro and Annette Belcastro; and brothers, Wayne and Arthur “Charlie” Bafile.
She will be greatly missed by her son, Nicholas Belcastro and his wife, Jeanine, Danbury, CT; 7 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter; sisters, Frances Miller, Bloomsburg; Renee Crotzer, Berwick; brother, Bernard Bafile and wife Linda, Bloomsburg, and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at ?time on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, Nescopeck. Burial will take place in Mifflinville Cemetery. Family will receive friends from ?time until the time of service.
