Gregory L. Spangler, 55, of Hollenback Township passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at his home.
Born in Berwick on November 15, 1962, he was a son of the late Roy M. and Edith A. (Zanolini) Spangler. He graduated from Berwick High School in 1981, and Luzerne County Community College where earned a degree in Drafting/Mechanical Engineering. Greg worked at Simplex Homes in Scranton, and Deluxe Homes in Berwick.
He also owned and operated Spangler Automotive Fabrications, where he made parts for micro sprint race cars as well as other automotive parts. Greg had a passion for racing micro sprint cars.
He will be greatly missed by his children: Adam Spangler, Warrior Run; Ashley DeLano and husband Ryan, Muskegon, MI; grandchildren: Bailey Spangler and Vincent DeLano; sisters: Mary Jane Yarrish and husband Stephen, Hobbie; Angela Traugh and husband Clarence, Ashland; brothers, Roy Spangler, Berwick; Herman Spangler and wife Joy, Hobbie; John Spangler and wife Toni, Hobbie; an uncle; numerous nieces and nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Spangler.
Family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on January 5, 2018 at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 East Third Street, Nescopeck.
A private interment will take place in Silver Maple Cemetery, Hobbie.
