Arissa Carlean Majer

Arissa Carlean Majer passed away on March 7, 2018.

She was a beautiful baby born on June 10, 1988 at Berwick Hospital with a full head of dark hair and cute rosebud lips. She had attended Berwick and Mifflinburg schools, but was working and living in the Wilkes Barre area when she passed away.

Arissa leaves behind her 2 children, Sage and Ashlyn; her mother, Tricia and step father, Michael; father, Carl and step mother, Carey. She will also be missed by her sister and brothers, Tressa, Gunner and Keatin, and her step-sisters and step-brother Christy, Audrina, and Justin; as well as her maternal grandmother, June; paternal grandmother, Joyce; and paternal grandfather Richard. She also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Let’s continue to remember the wonderfully sweet, funny, sassy, strong, beautiful Arissa we all knew and loved!

For many years she fought a heroic battle. She had been sober for a little while, but her addiction still had a powerful hold on her. We wish she had recognized the beauty and strength that everyone else saw in her. It has been one long, hard, agonizing battle after another for years and she fought like a warrior every step of the way. Addiction, however, won the war.

To the person who doesn’t understand addiction, she is just another statistic that chose to make a bad decision, but we don’t care, because for people who do understand, this is our baby, our oldest, our child, our daughter. She was also a mother, a sister, a granddaughter, an aunt, a niece, a cousin, a friend, a human being with an addiction.

We can try to understand the hold this had on her, but I feel we will fall short every time. We need to talk and educate the world about this epidemic. My beautiful little girl may not be here physically, but she’s at peace now and will work miracles from Heaven. Through all the heart ache and tough times my girl has still made me proud and I love her so very much!.

Shine down on all of us my sweet Arissa.
