Wayne Simons, 65, of Berwick passed away unexpectedly on September 22, 2021, at his home.
Born in Abington, PA on April 22, 1956, he was the last living child of the late Theodore “Teddy” and Carrie Simons. He was raised and educated in Montgomery County. As an adult he moved to Berwick and was employed at Thompson mailing, and later retired from Milco.
Wayne enjoyed camping and going to yard sales. He liked watching NASCAR and was a Jeff Gordan fan. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and his cat ‘Morris’.
He will be greatly missed by his companion of over 31 years, Carolyn Yorks; sons, Wayne Merkins, Warminster; Eric Wayne Simons and wife Chandra, Bloomsburg; daughters, Trisha Biagi and husband Jon, Bloomsburg; Roseanne Simons, Berwick; Carrie Ann Simons, Berwick; son, Shane Yorks and companion Angelica Pegan, Berwick; 8 grandchildren including, DeSean, Anthony, Mekaylah, Colby, Kendra, Aiden, and Gage. He also leaves behind a niece Deborah Simons; and a nephew, Ted DuVal and wife Stacey.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepdaughter Marie Yorks, sister, Darlene Casey and companion Howard Hunter; brother, Theodore “Teddy” Simons; and niece, Sheila Elizabeth Swartz.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00pm on October 8, 2021 at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 East Third Street, Nescopeck. Family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heller Funeral Home, LLC, or the family to help defray his final expenses.
