Kathleen L. Blaine-Gearhart, 74, of Nescopeck, passed away on Sunday, September 26, 2021, at her home.
Born in Berwick on January 29, 1947, she was a daughter of the late Howard K. and Dorothy (Learn) Blaine. She graduated from Berwick High. She worked at many local companies throughout her life, most notably Ames Department store where she worked as manager of the shoe department and later at Berwick Offray.
Kathy was a member of Hetlerville United Methodist Church. In her younger years she enjoyed fishing and gardening. She also liked to read romance novels. Kathy’s great joy in life was her family. She was a devoted wife and mother, who built a warm and loving home. She loved to spend as much time with them as she could.
She will be greatly missed by her son, Jason Blaine and wife Alicia, Nescopeck; daughter, Debra Shultz and husband Jim, Berwick; son, Drew Welsh and wife Theresa, Texas; grandchildren, Jordin, Dominic, and Jamison Blaine. She also leaves behind a sister, Barbara Snyder and husband Harold, NY; numerous nieces and nephews; and her loyal companions, Abby, and Gracie.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 22 years, Blaine C. Gearhart; sisters, Betty Kessler, Carol Skrip; and brother, Frederick Blaine.
A funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday, October 1, 2021, at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 East Third Street, Nescopeck, PA 18635. Family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until the time of service.
