Jack E. Shultz, 65, of Nescopeck, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 25, 2021, at Berwick Hospital Center.
Born in Berwick on December 31, 1955, he was a son of the late Emlyn L. and Louise (Shalles) Shultz. He graduated from Berwick High School in 1973 and would go on to earn his bachelor’s and master’s in education from Bloomsburg State College. Jack started his career in Reading education at Matamoras Elementary. He married the love of his life Wendy and moved to Litiz to teach at Kissel Hill Elementary. He moved back home to teach at Keystone Job Corp where he worked for 12 years. Afterwards he taught at Northwest elementary, middle school, and high school honors until his retirement.
Jack was a member of the Hunting and Rifle Club, Nescopeck. He loved history and was a living historian. He would give lectures on the Revolutionary War through the Civil War. Jack was a fabulous singer and would sing at friends and family’s weddings. He was also an avid reader.
He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 35 years, Wendy E. (Miller) Shultz, at home; brother, Fred C. Shultz, Litiz; 6 nieces; 2 nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Linda (Shultz) Ross, and a brother in infancy, Jeff Shultz.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 1, 2021, at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 East Third Street, Nescopeck. Interment will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Berwick. Family will receive friends from 9:00 AM until the time of service.
