Betty J. Laubach

Betty J. Laubach, 86, of Berwick passed away on Monday, November 1, 2021, at Grandview Nursing and Rehab, Danville, where she was a patient for the past 10 days.

Born in Nescopeck on December 19, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Alfred H. and Geneva (McMurtrie) Waltman. She was a graduate of Nescopeck High School, class of 1953. Betty was employed at Carl Bucks Butcher Shop, Nescopeck, later at the Fulton Lamp Company, Berwick, and she retired from Bercon Industries, Berwick.

On September 4, 1965, Betty married Clarence “Butch” R. Laubach. Together they raised 2 sons and welcomed the birth of several grandchildren before his passing in November of 2004.

Betty was a member of the former Albright United Methodist Church, Nescopeck. She was a Berwick Bulldog football fan and little league baseball fan, she also followed Berwick and Bloomsburg wrestling, especially when her grandson was involved. In her quiet time, she enjoyed watching crime solving shows on television.

She will be greatly missed by her sons, Kevin J. Laubach and wife Susan, Berwick; Michael Laubach and wife Danielle, Berwick; stepson, Clarence Laubach, Jr and wife Lori; stepdaughter, Cathy Shultz; cherished grandchildren: Kevin Laubach, Jr; Jamie Feick and husband Troy; Ashley Fahringer; and Danica Laubach. She also leaves behind brothers, William J. Waltman and wife Aileen, Nescopeck; Jerry D. Waltman and wife Bernadine, Berwick; a sister, Carol Chambers and husband Robert, Berwick; brother-in-law, Marvin Brown and wife Joanne, Berwick; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, “Butch”, she was preceded in death by her brother, Harold “Honey” Waltman and wife Barbara; sister, Dorothy B. Cooper and husband Herbert; twin sister, Beverly D. Brown; and infant sister, Mary Jane Waltman; and stepson-in-law, Carl Shultz.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, November 4, 2021, at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 E Third St, Nescopeck. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Berwick. Family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the time of service.
