Brian C. Smith

Brian C. Smith, 66, of Slocum Township passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at his home.

Born in Nanticoke on October 29, 1955, he was a son of the late Ira F. Jr and Betty V. (Wattson) Smith. He graduated from Crestwood High School and West Side Technical School in 1973. Brian was an independent trucker for 47 years. He was a farmer his entire life, which he loved.

On July 15, 1978, he married the love of his life, Tina M. (Joline) Smith. They began their 43-year adventure together and raised 3 children. He loved his family and spending as much time with them as possible.

He was a member of Mt Zion UCC, Slocum and the J.I. Case Tractor Club, he was an avid Case tractor collector. Brian had a love and zest for life, and always had a big grin on his face. He was a genius when it came to rebuilding and repairing farm equipment, tractors, old cars, and engines, which he fixed for family as well as neighbors and friends. He enjoyed cooking and eating, and recently developed a liking for puzzle books.

In addition to his wife Tina, he will be greatly missed by his children: Brian M. Smith and wife April Vanderlick, Dorrance; Christopher Smith and companion Lindsey Wasilewski, Hobbie; Kaitlyn Zaloga and husband Zachary, Slocum Twp; grandsons, Brian and Aiden Smith; brothers: Herbert L.; Bradley E.; and Stewart H. Smith; sisters: Virgina Hess and husband Earl Jr.; Barbara Smith and companion Dave Blossom; Beverly Lukashewski and husband Frank; sister-in-law, Sandra Smith; and many nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Ira F. Smith II and Steven J Smith.

A viewing will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday, December 3, 2021, at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 E Third St, Nescopeck.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at Mt Zion UCC, 438 Lily Lake Road, Slocum Twp, with Diane Webster officiating. Interment will follow in Slocum Cemetery.
