Stephen F. Whitenight, 63, of Berwick, passed away on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born in Berwick on March 7, 1958, he was the son of Constance (Hess) Whitenight of Nescopeck and the late Carl H. Whitenight. He graduated from Berwick High School. Steve held multiple positions throughout his career including positions at S&B Foundry and most recently at Thompson’s Mailing.
In his younger years, Steve was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Nescopeck. He was passionate about the outdoors, golfing, and playing/coaching softball. He also enjoyed watching the 49ers, Nascar, and Westerns. In his spare time, Steve kept busy with home improvement projects amongst many things. One of his favorites was banter between loved ones and friends.
Steve was a true fighter; surviving a heart attack, stroke, lupus and other medical issues for years. His fight ended with unannounced stage 4 pancreatic cancer. He is survived by his wife: Linda Whitenight, his children: Nicholas Whitenight, Ashleigh Whitenight, Robert Kocher, and LaTonya Ney and her husband Louis; sister: Cindy McPherson and her husband Larry, and his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his son, Stephen A. Whitenight.
At Steve’s request there will be no public services. Memorial contributions are suggested to the family or the funeral home to help defray his final expenses.
