Arnold E. Keller, Jr., 73, of Sugarloaf, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, December 28, 2021.
Born in Bloomsburg on November 12, 1948, he was a son of Beverly E. (Fisher) Farrell of Almedia and the late Arnold E. Keller, Sr. He was a graduate of Bloomsburg High School class of 1968. Shortly after graduation, he entered the United States Army and served until 1988, retiring after 20 years. During that time, he served in the Vietnam war, earning several medals and awards including the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation Badge with palms and the Army Commendation Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters. After retiring from the military, Arnold worked as mechanic for Valley Seeding and then Zanolini’s Garage.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 360, Weatherly, where he served as the first Vice Commander. He enjoyed tinkering with cars or anything mechanical.
He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 52 years, Bonnie L. (Richendrfer) Keller; sons, Arnold E. Keller III, Mahanoy City; Christopher Keller, Sr and wife Pamela, Effort; Oscar Keller, Shamokin; grandchildren, Christopher Jr, Ryan, Andrew, Jayson, Matthew, and Alina. He also leaves behind a brother, John Keller, Moyock, NC; a sister, Judy Helwig and husband Mike, Almedia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Kathy Houser in 1996.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, January 8, 2021, at Elan Memorial Park, 5595 Old Berwick Road, Bloomsburg.
