Sandra L. Bankes, 65, of Nescopeck, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at Berwick Hospital Center.
Born in Shirley, Massachusetts on March 1, 1956, she was a daughter of the late Adam J. and Nancy M. (Henry) Gettle. She graduated from Pottsgrove Highschool in 1974. Sandra worked at several local businesses including Thomas Mailing Corporation.
Sandra was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Sandra enjoyed traveling with family. Some of her other hobbies included reading, playing on her tablet, scrapbooking, and watching crime shows. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She will be greatly missed by her sons, Daniel Bankes and fiancée Corinne Schell, Nescopeck; Aaron Bankes and companion Tiffanie Burch, Hawaii; daughter Jordan Bankes, at home; grandchildren, Morgan, Landon, Evelynn and Beau; sisters, Cynthia Laird, Berwick; Linda Frey (Saulnier), Pottstown; many nieces and nephews including Amber Buck and Jessica Laird, several cousins, and an aunt, Martha Chown.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roger L. Bankes in 2007, and sister, Wanda Buck.
