Former teacher, businessman and animal lover
David F. Conner, 77, of Bloomsburg passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, after a year and a half struggling with dementia. He was born May 2, 1944, the son of the late Grace Foote Conner and Joseph Creasy Conner, Sr.
He attended Bloomsburg schools and graduated with the Bloomsburg High School class of 1962. He received his bachelor’s degree in History and Political Science in 1966, and his Master of Education in Comprehensive Social Sciences in 1969, both from Bloomsburg State College. David started his career as a teacher at Central Columbia High School, followed by many successful years in the business world until retirement.
He enjoyed fly fishing and making his own flies in his younger years, and always enjoyed trips to his favorite place at Chautauqua Lake, and also Tennessee.
He is survived by his partner of 13 years, Susanne; son, Michael; daughter, Lynn; stepson, Kyle; siblings: Joseph Jr. (Ann), Richard (Myrna) and Mary (Tom); nephews: Bucky, Brett, and Royce.
The family would like to thank the staff of Commonwealth Hospice and Vintage Knolls for their kind and compassionate care.
Per the request of the deceased, there will be no services. However, a Celebration of Life is expected to be held at a later date when the weather warms and covid relents.
