Gladys M. Wido, 83, died Thursday, January 20, 2022, at Glenbrook Health and Rehab, Berwick.
Born on May 21, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur and Mary Hoffman. A graduate of Shickshinny High School, she married her husband and spent her life raising her children and grandchildren. She worked as a bartender at Martini’s Café.
Gladys loved to sew. She could make anything with a sewing machine. She also loved to do crafts and decorate her yard for the holidays. She and her sister opened “That Little Something Boutique” in Shickshinny making children’s clothing, specializing in First Holy Communion dresses. She and her sister also operated a Halloween costume shop, making costumes to rent for Halloween. Gladys was a member of the Ascension Church in Mocanaqua.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Clem Wido; 3 daughters: Lynne Wilczynski, Kathy Mason, and Kristin Wido; 2 sons, Jim Wido and his wife Debbie, Michael Wido Sr; 5 grandchildren, Tresha Butler, Michael Wido Jr, Karly Mason, Dana Wido, Nicholas Wido; great grandson, Bryce Monahan and great grandson, Troy Wilson.
Preceding her in death were 2 sisters, Marion Martini and Elaine Kost; sons-in-law Matthew Wilczynski and Vincent Mason.
Gladys was an angel on this earth, she will certainly be an angel in heaven.
A mass will be held at a later date. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
