Willard L. George Sr., 81, of Dorrance Township passed away Saturday May 21, 2022, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. He was born in Slocum Twp on September 2, 1940, to parents L. Willard and Dorthy E. George. He was a graduate of Newport Twp High School. He has been married to the love of his life, Barbara A. (Badman) George for 62 years. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, son, Willard L. George Jr., great-granddaughter, Claudia Brown, whom they raised; grandchildren Amanda, Jessica, Zoey, and Vicky; eight great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; sister, Eileen Kaska; and sisters-in-law, Sandra, and Donna. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Kimberly Balliet in 2013, and sisters Joan Crawford and Doris Yeager. Willard lived his life with kindness and thoughtfulness. Laughter and love lived in his heart always. His goodness flowed and touched the lives of all people who knew and loved him. He loved gardening, putting puzzles together, and reading books, but his real passion was for his family. He was a self- employed carpenter, later working at Good Year Tire for 20 years and retiring from Martz Trailways. Friends may visit from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 26th, 2022, at Stairville United Methodist Church, 1790 Stairville Rd, Mountain Top. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM directly after the visitation, followed by burial in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions if desired may be made to the prescription fund at Dr. Bruce Saidman’s office, 382 Pierce St., Kingston, PA 18704, who was compassionate and caring with Willard.
