Wayne D. Weaver, 90, of Berwick, passed away on June 27, 2022, at home, just 1 month before his 91st birthday.
Born at home in Summerhill, on July 27, 1931, he was the last living of 6 children born to the late Edward and Emma (Hartman) Weaver. He attended a one room schoolhouse on Fowlersville Road. Wayne entered the US Army and served during the Korean War. After an honorable discharge he worked as a fryer at Wise Foods for 43 years, until retirement in 1993.
Wayne was a member of Evansville United Methodist Church. He was a member of The Evansville Gang, a musical group through the church that enjoyed sharing their music. He was also a member of Briar Creek Grange until it closed and Catawissa American Legion. Wayne’s hobbies included, playing guitars, banjos, and harmonicas in the group. He also enjoyed repairing antique clocks for many people in the area, which he took over after his father passed away. Wayne enjoyed bowling regularly at P-Nut Bowl until 2020, stopping when COVID hit.
He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 70 years, Terilla “Tillie” A. (Cleaver) Weaver; children, Lori Ann Bower, Berwick; Jeffery Weaver and wife Joyce, Catawissa; grandchildren, Tiffany Stagliano, Michael Drasher, Nicole Linn, Ryan Weaver, and Brandon (Bubba) Weaver; great-grandchildren, Jayden Drasher, Tyler Stagliano, and Chloe Stagliano; and step-great-granddaughter, Makaylah Weaver; and his loyal dog Missy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son-in-law, Harold Bower; sisters, Edna Shutlz and Hazle Magee; and brothers, Morris Weaver, Derl Weaver, and Foster Weaver.
At his request there will be no services.
