Doreen Patricia Russ

Doreen Patricia Russ, age 75, of Bloomsburg, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2022, in her home. Born in Pottsville on June 22, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Samuel H. Russ and Arietta A. (Bowman) Russ Varner. She was a 1965 graduate of Central Bucks High School in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. After high school, she earned her medical assistant certificate. For most of her life, Doreen worked at Weis bakery in Berwick as a manager up until her retirement. Doreen was a member of the Berwick Christian Church. She also belonged to quilting clubs in both Bloomsburg and Benton Pennsylvania. In her free time, she enjoyed quilting, sewing, and crafts. Doreen was known as a fighter and for her bravery having successfully beat cancer. She will be greatly missed by her children and her sister, Amy Payne and her fiancé, A.J. Barnes, Mifflinville, Cheri Paul and her husband Lee, Bloomsburg, Russ Graeber and wife Mary, Willow Grove; grandchildren Codi, Melissa, Ashley, Laura, and Kellie; 6 great grandchildren; sister Crystal Russ Fitzpatrick and her husband James, Levittown; stepfather Ronald Varner, Berwick; stepsister Sandy Cadoneri and her husband Giuseppe, Hazleton; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Samuel Brown and her brother, Dwight Charles Russ.
