Marilyn G. Kishbach

Marilyn G. Kishbach, age 87, of Berwick passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2022, at Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital.

Born at home in Zenith on February 1, 1935, she was the daughter of the late George A. Shields, who died when Marilyn was 3, and Blanche M. (Miller) Bredbenner and J. Charles Bredbenner who raised her. She graduated from Mifflinville High School and shortly after went to work at Emenee Shirt Factory in Catawissa. When her children were born, she left work and dedicated herself to providing a loving home for her family. Later, she went back to work at the Bloomsburg Hospital until retiring.

On April 2, 1955, she married Donald Z. Kishbach. Together they raised 5 children and celebrated nearly 59 years of marriage before his passing in March 2014. They enjoyed travelling around the east coast and seeing different historical sites.

She enjoyed word search puzzles, watching old game shows and Lawrence Welk on television. She liked listening to music by Elvis and Loretta Lynn. She was an excellent baker who made lots of different goodies for anyone who asked including cheesecake, cookies, and strawberry shortcake, in her kitchen which she decorated with roosters. She enjoyed painting ceramics and gave many of them to her family. She loved her cats, especially “Baby Dash”.

She will be greatly missed by her son, Zane Kishbach and wife Gayle, Berwick; daughters, Vicki Wisniewski and husband Leo, Reading; Georgia Kile, Berwick; Amber Daily and husband Stephen, Berwick; 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and sister, Orlana Bredbenner.
