William J. Dodd Jr, 93, of Berwick, passed away Thursday, November 24, 2022, at The Gardens of Orangeville.
Born in Berwick on April 16, 1929, he was a son of the late Anna (Cain) and William J. Dodd Sr. He worked for various local manufacturing companies and retired from Deluxe Homes.
He was a member of the First Reformed Church of Berwick. He belonged to the West Berwick and East End Fire Companies and was a part of the Berwick Fire Police. He was instrumental in the startup of the Berwick Ambulance Association. Some of his hobbies included watching western movies and reading western books. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting.
He married his wife, Betty Jean (Hess) Dodd in April of 1953. They spent 69 wonderful years together.
In addition to his wife, he will be greatly missed by his daughter Marcella Benish and husband Mark, Berwick; grandchildren Michele Panuzzo and husband Tony, Berwick; Mark II, Berwick; great grandchildren Stephanie; Juliana; and Chelsea; great grandchildren: Aiden; Lukas; and Athena.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters: Dorothy Lucas; Velma Keifer; Carrie Fish; and brothers Glen Hill and Bud Elliot.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, November 29th, 2022, at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 East Third Street, Nescopeck. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Berwick. Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Monday, November 28, 2022.
