Debra E. Nuss, 60, of Mifflin Township passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at home.
Born in Berwick on October 30, 1962, she was a daughter of the late Luther and Eugenia M. (Epler) Smith. She attended Berwick High School and later went on to earn an associate’s degree in Business from Luzerne County Community College. Debra worked at several local businesses, most recently she was employed at Giant in Berwick.
Debra was a member of St James Lutheran Evangelical Church, Zenith. She was also a member of the Mifflin Forest Rangers, American Legion Post 273, and the American Ukrainian Citizens Club, Berwick. She was a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, David L. Nuss in 2012; sisters: Elizabeth Henry, Paula Davis, and Linda Hayes; brothers, James and John Fox; nephews: Richard Henry, Glen Henry, and Darwin Davis Jr; in-laws, Luther and Geraldine Nuss.
She will be greatly missed by her daughters, Michelle Moll and husband Christopher, Nescopeck; Heather Lutz and companion Steven Robbins, Berwick; adored grandchildren, Ryan, Lukas, Cora, Sarah, and Nick; sisters: Eva Moyer, Mifflinville; Anne Serdula and husband Andrew, Florida; Cynthia Springer and companion Mark Lehman, Berwick; Daralyn Long and husband Rick, Virginia; brother, Keith Smith and wife Lisa, Berwick; sisters-in-law, Gail Welliver and husband H William, Wapwallopen; Karen Matthews and husband Earl, Berwick; and many nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Wednesday December 21, 2022, at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 East Third St, Nescopeck. A celebration of life will follow at 6:00 PM at Mifflin Fire Hall, 605 Market Street, Mifflinville, PA.
