Edith M. Lear, age 90, of Berwick passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2022, at Glenbrook Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, where she was a resident.
Born in Wilkes-Barre on September 4, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Lamott S. and Arlean M. (Myers) Cornell. She was a graduate of Meyers High School, Wilkes-Barre in 1950 and worked at the Hotel Sterling until she was married.
On April 4, 1952, she married Harry K. Lear. They were married nearly 50 years prior to his passing on January 19, 2002. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, James and Jack Cornell; and sister, Dolores Casterline.
She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Susan Confer, Berwick; sons, Mark Lear and wife Karen, Nescopeck; and Walter Lear and wife Aileen, Nescopeck; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held privately at the convenience of her family. She will be buried next to her husband, Harry, in Pine Grove Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 E Third St, Nescopeck.
