Verlie M. Schickley, 82, of Pine Twp, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, surrounded by family.
Born in Catawissa on August 29, 1940, she was born to the late Leonard L. and Alice (Bell) Andrews. She was a graduate of Catawissa High School, class of 1958. She was the owner and proprietor of several Chinese restaurants in the Bloomsburg area and later worked as a CNA in home healthcare.
Verlie enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and playing cards, especially pinochle.
She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Laurie Waters, Catawissa; sons, Cameron Waters, Catawissa; John Snyder, Northumberland; stepdaughter, Joyce Davis and husband John, Herdon; grandchildren, Jenny M. Waters; Caressa M. Snyder; Brandy Fenstemacher; Tia Fenstemacher; Jesse Miller; and 10 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind brothers, Robert “Jim” Andrews, Numedia; Sterling “Pete” Andrews and wife Flossy, Washingtonville; stepbrothers, Eugene Devine, Millville; William “Bill” Devine, Millville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Debbie Waters; grandson, William Sinclair; sisters, Mary Ellen Crause; Shirley Lewis; Sara Swank; and brother, Merlin “Skip” Andrews.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
