Hensyl “Rick” R. Traugh, age 72, of Salem Township passed away on Friday, February 3, 2023, at his home.
Born in Berwick on August 28, 1950, he was a son of the late Glen E. Sr and Clara (Doty) Traugh. He was a graduate of Berwick High School, class of 1968. Shortly after graduation, he entered the US Army and served honorably until 1971, during the Vietnam War. For many years, Hensyl was a self-employed over the road truck driver. Later he worked at Cheetah Chasis, Berwick.
Hensyl was a life member of the VFW Post 821, Berwick. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed spending time at family gatherings.
He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 50 years, Cheryl L. (Heller) Traugh; a son, Christopher Traugh and wife Melissa, Foundryville; daughters, Tracey Padgett and husband Daniel, Berwick; April Traugh, Berwick; grandchildren: William, Haley, Nathan, Brandon, Hunter, James, and Daniel; great grandchildren, William “Junior” and Weston. He also leaves behind sisters, Elizabeth Bracena and husband Al, Florida; Nancy Dietterick, Lime Ridge; Kathleen Shotwell and husband Olan, Bloomsburg; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers: Kingsley, Henry, Allen, Clifford and Glen Traugh Jr; and sisters, Patricia Zehner, Adeline Yarmonchik; Margaret Pifer; Linda Traugh; and Fay Lynn.
At Hensyl’s request, there will be no services.
