Judith A. Betz, age 70, of Berwick passed away suddenly on Friday, May 19, 2023, at her home with her husband by her side.
Born in Wilkes-Barre on July 7, 1952, she was a daughter of the late Marjorie (Burridge) and James E. Blakeslee, Sr. She graduated from Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre, in 1970. Judy worked at several local restaurants, and retired from Mays Family Restaurant, Berwick.
Judy attended the Living Hope Church, Nescopeck when she was able. She liked listening to music on CD’s and watching western shows especially Gun Smoke. She enjoyed gardening when she was in better health. She loved chickens and had a vast collection of knick-knacks and other chicken items. In her quiet time, she liked working on find-a-word puzzles and cuddling with her loyal companion, Rowlf.
She will be greatly missed by her husband of nearly 47 years, Duane E. Betz, Sr; son, Duane E. Betz, Jr, Berwick; sister, Betty Grlica and husband Jerry, Arrowhead Lake; brother, James Blakeslee Jr and wife Debbie, Wilkes-Barre; sister, Joan McHugh and husband James, Wilkes-Barre; brother, Charles Blakeslee and wife Michelle, White Haven; many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the family to help defray her final expenses.
