Frances M. (Lamoreaux) Golla, age 92, of Berwick passed away on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at Fritzingertown Senior Living, Drums.
Born in Briar Creek on November 25, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Claud E. and Geraldine (Harvey) Lamoreaux. She was a graduate of Harter High School, class of 1948. She worked at Wise Potato Chips and later, at Consolodated Cigar, retiring in 1995.
Fran was a member of the Red Hat Society Benton. She enjoyed crocheting and working on jigsaw puzzles. She liked visiting the cabin in Elk Grove and her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Fran was the wife of Eugene “Abe” Golla. They were married in March of 1953 and spent 64 years together before his passing in October 2017. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Bobby Aponick; great granddaughter, Dianna Aponick; brother, Wayne Lamoreaux; and sisters, Gladys Spencer and Barbara Fowler.
She will be greatly missed by her son, Wayne Golla and wife Sue, Mifflinville; stepson, Eugene C Golla and wife Pat, Berwick; stepdaughter, Bonnie Aponick, Ringtown; beloved grandchildren, Maribeth Winters; Kyle Golla; Ryan Golla; Nathan Golla; Eugene Golla Jr; Matthew Golla; Jodi Berry; and Angie Barr; 15 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren. She also leaves behind a brother, Curtis Lamoreaux, West Nanticoke; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, in St. James Lutheran Cemetery 1488 Zenith Rd, Nescopeck with Pastor Susan Knorr officiating. A Celebration of Life will follow at Mifflinville Fire Hall, 605 Market Street, Mifflinville.
