Allan R. Hoyle, age 68 of Mifflinville lost his long battle with cancer on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, surrounded by his family.
Born in Huddersfield, England on August 23, 1954, he was a son of the late Lawrence and Mary (Groves) Hoyle. He was raised and educated in England. In 1981, he moved to the United States and worked at Bloomsburg Carpet for 40 years.
In his later years, Allan loved playing golf. When he was younger, he was a semi-pro soccer player and an avid drag racer of both motorcycles and cars.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of 20 years, Jean L. (Wright) Hoyle; daughters, Donna Redfern and husband Joe; Jill Kleman and husband Jason; Jane Hoyle Lawton and husband Shaun; Amy Briggs and partner Roger Billman; grandchildren, Adam and Kerry Redfern; and Fenway Huntington.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Beverley Hoyle; and sister, Pamela Henry.
A celebration of life will be held from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM, on Sunday, July 23, 2023, at Nescopeck Borough Firehall, 325 Warren St, Nescopeck.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
