Robert J. McGlinchey, age 86, of Berwick passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at Glen Brook Rehab and Healthcare.
Born in Manhattan on December 30, 1936, he was a son of the late Robert and Mary (Byrne) McGlinchey. He was raised and educated in New York. He entered the United States Army in 1959 and served honorably until 1961. He worked at the State Hospital in Kings Park, NY until retiring, after which he moved to Berwick.
He enjoyed working with model trains, had a collection of vinyl records he enjoyed listening to and cooking.
He will be greatly missed by his children, Kevin McGlinchey and companion Angelina Borracci, Long Island; Lisa Williamoski, Berwick; Michael McGlinchey, Long Island; grandchildren, Christopher, Jessica, Nicole, Tarra, Allison, Leo; and 7 great grandchildren. He also leaves behind sisters, Mary Farrell, NJ; Cathyann McGlinchey, NY; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Violet (Tortorici) McGlinchey in 2020; son-in-law, Joseph Williamoski in 2017; and brother, Thomas McGlinchey.
At the family’s request all services will be held at the convenience of the family. Heller Funeral Home, LLC is assisting his family.
