Arnold W. Halye, age 70, of Scotch Valley passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born in Beaver Twp on March 12, 1953, he was the son of the late William and Hazel (Hons) Halye. He graduated in 1971 from Columbia Montour Area Vocational Technical School. Arnold served in the US Coast Guard. After serving his time in the military, he started a career as a Correction Officer at SCI Dallas and later transferred to SCI Coal Twp, in 1995 a riot took place at the prison. He received a purple heart medal for his acts of heroic attempts.
Arnold was an excellent mechanic who liked working on cars and building street rods, which he took to many car shows. He also enjoyed gunsmithing, hunting, fishing and competition shooting. He loved spending time with his family and friends.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of nearly 50 years, Margaret R (Lang) Halye; son, Joseph Halye, Beaver Twp; daughter, Lisa and husband Robert Adams, South Carolina; grandchildren, Piper Caulder, Samuel Adams, Robert Halye, Sarah Halye, and Emily Halye. He also leaves behind a brother, Jeff and wife Sandy Halye, Georgia; sisters Karen and husband Chuck Henry, Beaver Twp; Leah and husband Albert Bankes, Beaver Twp; brother Doug and wife Audra Halye, Beaver Twp; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Heller Funeral Home LLC, Nescopeck is entrusted with arrangements.
