Benita Bove, age 86, of Hazleton passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2023, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hazleton.
Born in Hazleton on May 21, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Emily (Marion) Campanell. She graduated from Hazleton High School in 1954. While her primary focus was being a devoted wife and mother to her 3 sons, she also was a talented seamstress. She had a small business at her house where she did alterations for several cleaners and department stores and also made drapes.
Benita was the wife of Gerald N Bove to whom she was married for 39 years before his passing in 1998.
She was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Berwick. Prior to marriage she was a member of Our Lady of Grace in Hazleton where she was an active member of the Blue Army. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and painting. She also loved spending time with her family and friends in her free time.
She will be greatly missed by her sons, Michael Bove, Seattle WA; Anthony Bove and wife Lisa, Wapwallopen; and Frank Bove and wife Jennifer, Drums; grandchildren, Mary Beth Bove; Daniel Bove and wife Jenna Bove; Rebecca Porpiglia and husband Seth; Angela Marie Bove; Elizabeth Bove; and great grandchild, Calvin Bove. She also leaves behind her sister Marita Marchetti, Conyngham; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Friday October 27, 2023, at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 604 N Laurel St, Hazleton, PA. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Drums. The family will receive friends on Friday October 27, 2023, from 9:00 am till the time of service at the church.
