Thomas D. Slusser, age 77, of Mifflin Township passed away suddenly on January 20, 2024, at his home.
Born in Berwick on September 18, 1946, he was a son of the late Donald A. and Bernice J. (McMurtrie) Slusser. He was a 1964 graduate of Central Columbia High School and furthered his education at Pennsylvania College of Technology, Williamsport. For over 30 years, he worked at the Susquehanna Nuclear Power Station, until retiring in 2002.
He was a member of Hetlerville United Methodist Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was also a history buff who participated as a Berdan Sharpshooter in Civil War reenactments.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of 57 years, Margaret “Peggy” A. (Rogers) Slusser; children, Thomas “Tom” F. Slusser and companion Debra Kerwan, Watkins Glen, NY; Heidi A. Kile and husband Mark, Nescopeck; Gregory Slusser and wife Danielle, Beaver Valley; 9 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Anthony “Tony” Slusser and Michael Slusser.
In light of new information, the upcoming Saturday services for Thomas D. Slusser have been cancelled in order to comply with his personal wishes. Services will not be rescheduled.
