Edward J. Welsh, age 69, of Briar Creek passed away unexpectedly on January 23, 2024, at his home.
Born in Hazleton on June 19, 1954, he a son of the late Ralph L. Welsh and Bertha M. McNamara. He was raised in the Sybertsville area and attended Freeland Schools. He worked as a cook at Bonanza, Denny’s and the Uptown Diner. He retired from Consolidated Container, where he was employed for over 20 years.
Edward attended Berwick Unity Praise Temple. He liked grilling and entertaining others with his sarcastic sense of humor. He loved spending time with his family and extended family.
He will be greatly missed by his children, Timothy Welsh and wife Irene, Danville; Stephanie Welsh, Berwick; Jessica Welsh and husband Charles, Berwick; Steven Welsh and wife Stephnie, Millville; Megan Welsh, Berwick; Misty Welsh, Berwick; 22 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren. He also leaves behind a sister, Donna Genery, Birdsboro; brothers, Michael Welsh, E. Stroudsburg; Thomas Welsh and wife Sherry, Lancanster; Robert Welsh and wife Darlene, Sugarloaf; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Tracy Allen; a grandson, Jason Snyder; brothers, Richard Welsh and David Welsh; and his high school sweetheart, former wife, and good friend, Sandra A Welsh.
Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, Nescopeck, followed by a funeral service with Bishop Perry Knouse officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 East Third St, Nescopeck, PA 18635 to help defray his final expenses.
