Harold N. Slusser, age 89, passed away on Saturday March 30, 2024, at Glen Brook Rehabilitation and Health Care, Berwick.
Born in Berwick on May 31, 1934, he was the son of the late Harold I. and Arlene I. (Painter) Slusser. He graduated from Nescopeck High School, class of 1953, and served in the Berwick National Guard for 3 years. He worked at Berwick Weaving, Sutter’s and Naugles Lumber Yard. He also worked together with his father in home construction and masonry for several years.
He was married to Shirley Fredrick, and they had two sons, Vernon Slusser and Timothy Slusser, both of whom he was very proud.
Ned loved to go fishing. He spent many hours with his father fishing in Little Wapwallopen Creek, Canada and Mehoopany. He also was an avid arrowhead collector, and liked going to auctions and train shows. He enjoyed doing wordsearches while he ate his Oreo cookies.
Ned was a member of St. Marks in Nescopeck and attended Millville Christian Church. He was a member of the N.R.A. and Nescopeck Hunting and Rifle club.
He spent 13 years living in Millville with his best friend Doris Campbell, after she passed away, he moved to Wapwallopen to stay with his sister Beverly Hess. He enjoyed spending time with Joan Ivy and going to lunch at Gumpy’s for rice pudding and spent many hours with his best friend Fred Brink and Leon Harker.
He will be greatly missed by his son, Vernon Slusser; sisters, Beverly D. Hess; and Connie L. Viers; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Timothy Slusser.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30am on April 05, 2024, in Pine Grove Cemetery, Berwick.
