Bonita Joy Craig

Bonita Joy Craig, 58, joined her mother in eternal peace on Wednesday, April 3rd, 2024.

She was born, January 6th, 1966, to Joseph Leon Young Jr. and the late LuElla Lena (Burman) Young.

Married, November 17th, 1984, she walked through life with her soulmate, her husband of 39 years, Oscar John Craig.

Bonita appreciated the silence of nature and the joyful noise of family gatherings. Having a few jobs over the years, there were none she put as much heart into as that of mother and homemaker. She spent most of her time laughing and playing with her “grandkids”, growing and harvesting plants from her greenhouse and gardens, and creating new and beautiful crafts. She also enjoyed tending her chickens to share the eggs with friends and family, working on jigsaw puzzles, and pampering her dogs and cats.

Her family also thought it worth mentioning her obsession with the color purple and that she was an avid collector of Ryobi power tools.

She will be greatly missed by; her husband, Oscar J. Craig; her two daughters, LuCinda M. Craig and Jessica M. Craig; her father, Joseph L. Young Jr; her siblings, LuElla and husband Leon Mengine; Mary and husband Lynn Sheatler, Tammy and husband Mark Latranyi, Joseph Young III and wife Patty; also her unofficial son, Matthew Adams, and her many niece, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Everybody who knew Bonita knew she loved plants. She will live on in the gardens that she grew, flowers she planted, and the love that continues to warm each heart that she held dear.

At the convenience of the family, services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations to the ACS Tri-County Relay for Life, or to plant a flower in her memory. Online messages of comfort may be sent to condolences@HellerFuneralHomeLLC.com.
