Dustin E. Hunter

Dusty was called home by his Lord and Savior on Monday April 8, 2024, while surrounded by his family, friends and best friend, Ginger, to the big fishing hole in the sky. He was a wonderful friend to many and was loved by all who were lucky enough to know him.

Dusty, born on September 2nd, 1956, in Nanticoke, spent most of his childhood in Muhlenberg and has lived in Summerhill since 1984. Dusty graduated from West Side Tech in 1974. He was employed at Berwick Offray for 43 years, retiring in 2023.

Dusty was a lifetime member of Summerhill Fire Company. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, lawnmower racing, shuffleboard, and the 2nd Amendment. He always enjoyed trips to the cabin, playing quoits, the Summerhill carnival and spending time with friends and family. He was also famous for his home-made horseradish!

He was the son of late Elmer and Bernadyne (Goss) Hunter. He married his best friend, Clara “Mazie” (Wilcox) Hunter, and together they would’ve celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on June 1st.

In addition to his wife, Mazie. He is survived by his daughter Melissa Hunter and her partner, Arnell Cobb, their children, Akayla Cobb Irvin, and her husband, Jovante; Nadia Cobb and her partner Darek Eichhorn, and his great grandson, Zen Irvin. He is also survived by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Hetty and Charlie Nichols, sisters-in-law, Chris, Jeanette and Michelle, brothers-in-law, Bud, Bob and Ken. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Rosalie Harrison and husband Arden; and brother-in-law, Mark Downs.

He was awesome. This sucks.
