Reese T. Smith, age 62, of Benton passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 29, 2024.
Born in Manchester, England on August 29, 1961, he was the son of Charles T. Smith of Lancaster, and the late Dorothy B. (Leedom) Smith. He attended Abraham Lincoln High School, in Philadelphia. After graduating, he furthered his education by going to Lehighton Community College. He was a facility manager at different locations throughout the years, including University of Penn, Philadelphia, and Penn State, Wilkes-Barre.
Reese participated in sports of all kinds. He loved the outdoors, hunting, camping, gardening, and playing on his farming equipment and ATVs. He found enjoyment coaching his son’s soccer teams over the years, but nothing compared to being able to spend time with his loving family.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of 40 years, Teresa A. (McCafferty) Smith; daughter, Shannon Smith, Benton; son, Reese C. Smithand fiancée Cheyann Beery, Orangeville; 4 grandchildren, Reese Jr, Jeannetta, Grayson, Mahayla; sisters, Debbie Smith, Voorhees, NJ; Kathy Fleming, Voorhees, NJ; brother, Bill Smith and wife Peg, Bloomsburg; many nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews; father-in-law, Charles H. McCafferty Jr.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Jeannette McCafferty; brothers-in-law, Ray Fleming and Bill Turner
A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family. Heller Funeral Home LLC, Nescopeck is entrusted with arrangements.
