Dorothy Rinehimer, passed away on May 31,2024 at the age of 90 at Allied Hospice Care, Scranton, PA.
Dorothy was the wife of Gerald “Jerry” Rinehimer who passed away in 2013. They had been married for 61 years.
Born August 6, 1933, in Stairville, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Lena Myers. She attended Stairville Schools and graduated from Newport Township High School. She was employed as a secretary/bookkeeper with Tri-County Oil, Robert W. Hart and Son, and Chapin Oil.
Dorothy was an active member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Nescopeck serving for many years as the financial secretary/treasurer. She was actively involved in the opening of the Wesley Food Cupboard which now serves as The Nescopeck Area Community Cupboard (NACC).
She will be greatly missed by her daughter Jodi Rinehimer, wife of Kenneth Clendenning, S. Abington Twp; grandsons, Aaron Foley, Celebration, FL; Christopher Foley and wife Elsa, Brentwood, TN; 4 great grandchildren: Aiden, Miles, Clara, and Calvin; siblings, Earl Myers and wife Eloise, Alden, PA; Marion Ungemach and husband Lee, Williamson, GA; God-daughter, Jennifer Lynn Knorr, Berwick and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by siblings: Robert Myers (1944); Albert Myers (2008), Norman Myers (2008); Evelyn Myers Walck (2010); sisters-in-law, Mildred Myers (2022); and Margaret Myers (2022).
In lieu of flowers the family asks donations to be made to Wesley United Methodist Church, 401 Broad St, Nescopeck, PA 18635.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
