Donna (Cerase) Alley

Donna Cerase Alley, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on June 15, 2024, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA, surrounded by her loving family. She was 62 years old.

Donna was born on February 7, 1962, in Berwick, PA, to the late James Sr. and Constance (Poland) Cerase. She graduated from Berwick Area High School Class of 1979 and continued her education at LCCC. Throughout her career, Donna went on to work at Bechtel Corp., PPL, and most recently at the I.G. Design Group in the customer care / customer service department. She also found joy bartending at & being a member of the American Ukrainian Club and the West Berwick Hose Company.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jerry Alley, her sister Patricia Cerase Brown, and her grandson Jayden Michael.

She will be greatly missed by her beloved son Jacob and his fiancée Cassie, whom she adored, and her cherished grandchildren Cameron and Mia of Scranton, PA. Donna also leaves behind her brother James Jr. of Sun City West, AZ, her twin sister & best friend Dawn McHugh and husband Joseph of Edwardsville, PA, her devoted companion Dave Garrison, her loyal canine companion Lucky, who was always by her side, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Donna’s family extends heartfelt gratitude to all her friends who supported her throughout her illness, especially June, Joan, Sally, Donna O., Mary, Annie, Heather, Ileana, Albert & Gary. They also express deep appreciation to her exceptional medical team, including Dr. Bowen, Rochelle, Kara, Dr. Panicar, Dr. Kamau, Jamie and Amy, Dr. Behm, and their staff, as well as the caring staff of the 8th floor at GMC Danville and everyone at Knapper Clinic.

In accordance with Donna’s wishes, private services will be held. However, a celebration of her life, honoring her love for gatherings with family and friends, will take place in the fall, her favorite season, to commemorate her vibrant spirit and cherished memories.

Donna will be remembered for her infectious laughter, her beautiful smile, her generous heart, and her unwavering love for her family and friends. She touched the lives of many and leaves behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and joy.
