Trudy A. (Wynings) Stout, age 77, of Mifflinville passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 21, 2024, at her home.
Born in Berwick on March 7, 1947, she was a daughter of the late Wilbur F. and Ada I. (Baker) Wynings. She graduated from Bloomsburg High School in 1965 and shortly after began working at the Columbia County Courthouse in the Prothonotary’s office. She later worked in the Recorder of Deeds, the County Commissioner’s, and the Sherrif’s office, where she was the first female Deputy Sherrif in the county. In 1988, she became employed with State Representative, Ted Stuban, then John Gordner and retired under David Millard after 24 years of service as the district office manager.
In her younger years, Trudy was a member of Hargers Church, Mainville. After moving to Mifflinville, she became a member of St John’s Lutheran Church.
She loved shopping. It was her personal goal to make sure everyone had what they needed from simple groceries to prom gowns for her granddaughters. She also enjoyed going to lunch and dinner with her friends and classmates.
Trudy married the love of her life, Stephen R “Rundy” Stout on October 17,1970. They raised 2 children and were later blessed with grandchildren and a great grandchild. They were married for nearly 50 years when he passed away in 2020.
She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Bridgett Coolbaugh and husband William, Berwick; son, Aaron Stout and wife Jaime, Millville; granddaughters, Madison Coolbaugh and fiancé Justin Knorr; Haydee Stout; Sierra Sabol and fiancé Tristan Brito; great granddaughter, Emma Brito; and her sister, Deborah Wynings of Berwick; nieces, nephews and cousins. She also leaves behind her cat, “Mitzi”.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 E Third St, Nescopeck with Reverend Chad Hebrink officiating. Interment will follow in Elan Memorial Park, Bloomsburg. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 PM and Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
