John J. Zajac III, age 42, of Bloomsburg passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 11, 2024.
Born in Hazleton on May 28, 1982, he was the son of Sandra L. (Welsh) Wintersteen and husband Ralph, Wapwallopen; and John J. Zajac Jr and wife Charlotte, TN. He worked at SCI Frackville as a Corrections Officer for many years before retiring.
John enjoyed playing cornhole and was an avid Eagles fan. He loved spending his time with his children, and when his son was younger, he was a coach for his football team.
In addition to his parents, he will be greatly missed by, his son, Toby Zajac; daughter Delaney Zajac, Bloomsburg, both of Bloomsburg; stepdaughter, Dia Bradley, Bloomsburg; sisters, Kristy Masteller, Mifflin; Rachel Zajac; stepbrother, Ryan Wintersteen; stepsisters, Morgan Wintersteen; Lacy Hooten; nieces and nephews, Cassie Eckroth; Jacob Eckroth; and Saxton and Reese Hooten; Sammy and Ethan Wintersteen; grandparents, Robert and Rose Marie Welsh; and companion Valerie Bloom.
He was preceded in death by, his grandparents, John and Helen Zajac.
A memorial service is being planned for a future date.
