Gary E. Wynings, age 80, passed away on Tuesday August 13, 2024, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born in Mainville on August 24, 1943, he was the son of the late Theodore J. Wynings and Mirian E. (Wohlfarth) Pealer. He attended a One-Room School House in Mainville. In his younger years, he worked for Wise Potato Chip. Later he was a water proofer for Brisk, NJ until retiring. Currently, he was a school van driver for Gallaghers Transportation.
Gary had a green thumb and could grow anything; he loved gardening. He enjoyed catching up with events by watching the news.
He will be greatly missed by his children, Steven Wynings and wife Susan, Port Richey, Fl; Gregory Wynings and wife Jessica, Shickshinny; Rochelle Balliet and husband Chad, Nescopeck; Michael Wynings and companion Carolyn Fenstermacher, Shickshinny; grandchildren, Heather, Donna, Susan, Steven, Mackenzie, Jared, Chad Jr, Rianna, Cole and Jocelyn “Bean”; 6 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; brother, Ricky Wynings, Berwick; sisters, Teresa Culver and husband Bill, Hunlock Creek; Sheila Meade and husband Richard, Hunlock Creek; Kay Patterson, Berwick; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, David in infancy; brothers, Theodore, Dale and Ronald Wynings; and sister, Cheryl Wynings.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 East Third St, Nescopeck. Interment will follow in Elan Memorial, Bloomsburg. Family will receive friends at 10:00 AM until the time of service.
