Lillian L. Readler, age 87, of Nescopeck passed away peacefully on Tuesday August 13, 2024, at her home. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Harrisburg on April 17, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Abraham R. and Florence V. (Bostwick) Hummel. She attended Kulpmont High School. Lillian worked at several different sewing factories, including Kings Sportwear, Baranol, and Orbatogs. She was also a seamstress for Schroyers Dress Factory. After her children were born, Lillian became a stay-at-home mom. While taking care of her own home and children, she also babysat over 70 different children through the years.
Lillian was a member of Faith United Lutheran Church, Nescopeck. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Debora Readler and companion Bill Smith, Nescopeck; son, Kevin Readler and wife Marce, Hobbie; grandchildren, Joshua Readler and wife Nicole, Hobbie; Jamine and wife Cheryl, Mountaintop; Madison McWilliams and husband Matt, Bloomsburg; Brionna Lehman and wife Brittany, Luzerne; great grandchildren, Ali, Seth, and Alexandria Readler. She was looking forward to the birth of 2 more this month. She also leaves behind brothers, Paul Hummel and wife Eileen, Delaware; and Raymond Hummel, New Mexico; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband Doyle E. Readler Jr to whom she was married for 60 years prior to his passing in 2016; as well as a brother, Leonard Hummel and sister, Dorothy Hummel.
At Lillian’s request there will be no services. Heller Funeral Home, LLC, Nescopeck is assisting her family.
