James A. Hyde Jr, 67, of Nescopeck, passed away on August 14, 2024, from natural causes at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born in Bloomsburg on October 26, 1956, he was the son of Nancy D. (McMurtrie) Hyde, Nescopeck and the late James A. Hyde Sr. He graduated from Columbia Montour Area Vocational Technical School and enlisted in the U.S. Army and served honorably in the 82nd Airborne division. James was a PA Forrest Ranger and later worked at Danville State Hospital until retiring about 13 years ago.
James was a member of Hetlerville United Methodist Church. His hobbies included spending time at the beach, hunting, and riding his motorcycle, all with friends and family. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his grandchildren. He loved his family, and they meant the world to him. James was an excellent Father, Grandfather, and friend. He will never be forgotten.
In addition to his mother, he will be greatly missed by his sons, James Hyde and wife Jen, Berwick; Joseph Hyde and wife Georgia, Danville; grandchildren, who were the light of his life, Chloe Hyde, Anthony Hyde, Ellie Hyde, and Windsor Hyde; and sister Jill Hyde-Low.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 East Third Street, Nescopeck. Family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
