Dane L. Belles, age 78, of Nescopeck Township, passed away on Friday, August 30, 2024, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born in Nanticoke on April 24, 1946, he was a son of the late Leonard T. and Helen G. (Parks) Belles. He served honorably in the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1972. For many years, he worked at Consolidated Cigar, now Altadis USA Inc, in McAdoo.
Dane liked hunting, fishing, woodworking and coin collecting. He was also a car and motorcycle enthusiast, especially Harley Davidson. He always said if it wasn’t a Harley, it wasn’t a motorcycle.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of 55 years, Sanda K. (Miller) Belles; son, Robert Belles and wife Amber, Williamsport; daughter, Ashley Belles, Montoursville; a sister, Virginia Richards, Nanticoke; and several nieces and nephews, including Paul Belles and wife Lynn.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, William Belles and wife Elizabeth “Betty” (Wallace); and Alan Belles and wife Marie (Thivierge).
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 E Third St, Nescopeck. Interment will follow in Mt Zion Cemetery, Briggsville. Family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
