William R. Staton Jr, age 96, of Berwick passed away on September 6, 2024, at Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital.
Born in Edgecombe, North Carolina on November 22, 1927, he was the son of the late William R Staton Sr and Katie (Dickens) Staton. He attended High School in North Carolina. After graduating, William entered the U.S Army, where he served honorably for 16 years. For many years, William worked for Muncy Home, most recently he was employed at Fleet Equipment Corporation until retiring.
William was an avid fisherman and enjoyed going to the casino when he could.
He will be greatly missed by his son, Arthaniel Staton; sisters, Clara Fox, Mary Humpra, Betty Conway and Kathlyn Lyon; brothers, Raymond Staton; and long time family friends, Terry Griffith and wife Stacey and family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, James, John and Earnest Staton.
At Williams’ request there will be no public services.
