George T. Whitebread, age 86, of Berwick went to be with the Lord on September 8, 2024, at home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Hobbie on July 7, 1938, he was the son of the late Homer T. and Bessie T. (Moyer) Whitebread. After an honorable discharge from the US Army, he worked at Wise Potato Chip Factory for 41 years, before retiring.
On June 26, 1965, George married his loving wife Marian and spent 59 years together.
He was a faithful member of the Berwick Christian Church, serving in many ways. He especially enjoyed the Angel Food Ministries. He loved gardening, he would grow vegetables and the largest and most beautiful dahlias. He was a great baseball fan and dearly loved his Boston Red Sox.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of 59 years, Marian G. (Leiby) Whitebread; son, Jeffrey Whitebread and wife Ishbell, Rosemont; daughter Susan Frace, Selinsgrove; and grandchildren, Jacob, Bradley and Baylee.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Claude E. Whitebread and Elwood A. Whitebread.
A celebration of life will be held at the Berwick Christian Church, 701 E. 5th Street, Berwick at 1:00 pm on Sunday September 22, 2024.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Berwick Christian Church.
