Patricia A. Avery, age 83, of Hobbie passed away on January 2, 2025, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, PA, with her loving husband and daughter by her side.
Born in Hollenback Twp on May 4, 1941, she was the daughter of the late George H. and Ruth V. (Hess) Heller. She attended Nescopeck High School and worked for Kawneer, Bloomsburg for over 23 years before retiring.
She was a member of the Berwick Christian Church. Patricia was an active and avid Square Dancer. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and diamond art painting, as well as playing cards and all different kinds of games. She liked gardening and working in her flower beds. One of her greatest passions was showing and riding horses, and she also enjoyed traveling and camping.
She will be greatly missed by her husband of 42 years, Robert “Bob” Avery; children: Carolea Roelfs and husband Danny, Fairbury, NE; Karen Traina and husband Steve, Galveston, Tx; Sharon Bridges, Fresno, CA; Jerry Cook; and Michael Cook and wife Sherry, Modesto, CA; stepson, Allan Avery and wife Cheryl, Carrizozo, NM; grandchildren, Jonathon, Eric, Gina, Shelby, Malia, Troy, Christine, Keana, Kayla, AhLeah, Chandra, Andrew, Anne; 8 great grandchildren; sisters, Virginia “Ginny” Briggs, Nescopeck Twp; and Mary Drasher, Hobbie; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Justin Fletcher; brother, Harold Heller; and brothers-in-law, Richard Briggs and Oscar Drasher.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on January 9, 2025, at Heller Funeral Home LLC, 633 East Third Street, Nescopeck. Interment will follow in Wapwallopen Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6:00pm-8:00pm on January 8, 2025.
